Twenty Years of Influential Research and Trusted Analysis
In July 2021, CIGI celebrated its twentieth anniversary. When founded by Jim Balsillie, then co-CEO of Research In Motion, with support from government and other partners, the think tank was designed to adapt to a changing policy landscape.
It has done just that. CIGI was instrumental in the creation of the G20 at the leaders’ level, which became the premier forum for tackling global problems. As Prime Minister Justin Trudeau noted in a video sharing his birthday wishes, CIGI “has been an important Canadian voice on the international stage to take on the pressing policy challenges of today and tomorrow.”
Now, as the world grapples with the rapid developments of the digital transformation, CIGI is ready to confront future policy-making challenges with its influential research and trusted analysis on the intersection of technology and global governance.
