In a year punctuated by Russia’s attack on Ukraine, increasingly pervasive disinformation and misinformation and lingering impacts of the pandemic, CIGI’s extensive network of researchers has provided keen insights and outlined much-needed policy responses. The rich body of work highlighted here is a result of strong leadership, committed staff and fellows, and direct engagement with government, academic and funding partners.
Work is under way on an important portfolio of new and continuing work, led by CIGI’s new president, extending and advancing our focus on gaps in global governance brought about by the rise of digital technologies. Projects will focus on the data-driven economy, the opportunities — and potential threats — of new technologies for democracy and security, and ways to update global institutions for the digital era.
Thank you to our entire community for making CIGI a global leader among think tanks at the cutting edge of digital policy research and analysis. Our newsletter provides a weekly portal into our work, and our social media channels are open for your feedback and ideas.
