Harmonization of Data Governance Frameworks in Africa

Data access and exchange offers benefits but also brings to the fore concerns about privacy rights, ethical implications and the effectiveness of existing regulatory frameworks. Regional approaches to data governance help enhance interoperability and harmonization of national data regulations. Recognizing diversity in levels of technological development, political economic analysis and context-specificity consideration all play a role in African data governance.
