Bio

Nivedita Raju is a researcher and facilitator at the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI). Her recent work focuses on escalation risks at the space-nuclear nexus, the role of space systems in nuclear deterrence, and transparency and confidence building in space activities. She is also a project coordinator on behalf of SIPRI in the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium. Prior to joining SIPRI, she conducted research on space law and policy issues as a research fellow at Open Lunar Foundation and as a research assistant at the Institute of Air and Space Law at McGill University. Nivedita holds a master’s degree in air and space law from McGill University, where she was awarded the Erin J. C. Arsenault Fellowship in space governance. Earlier, she was a practising lawyer, steering negotiations for commercial disputes and aviation matters.
