Holding a Ph.D. in political science from the from University of Reading in the United Kingdom, Nadia Al-Sakkaf is a researcher focused on political affairs, democratic processes, women’s rights and press freedom. She conducts studies and policy research aimed at advancing human rights, gender equality, media, development and peacebuilding. Nadia has made significant contributions to developing innovative policies that support sustainable development and human rights. She was the first woman to serve as Yemen’s minister of information and previously held the position of editor in chief of the Yemen Times for nearly a decade. She has received numerous global awards for her work in media, leadership and social peace.
