Christian Helmers

Christian Helmers is an assistant professor of economics at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Before joining Santa Clara, Christian was an assistant professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Christian Helmers is an assistant professor of economics at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University. Before joining Santa Clara, Christian was an assistant professor at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.

Prior to that, he worked as a research economist at the London School of Economics. He has been a visiting research scholar at the University of California, Berkeley; Stanford University; the World Intellectual Property Organization; the Hoover Institution; and Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich. His research focuses on innovation, intellectual property and the economics of digitization.

Christian earned his B.A. in economics from the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Lausanne, and his M.Sc. in economics for development, as well as his Ph.D. in economics, from the University of Oxford.
