Bio
Aya Iwamoto is the director of Japan space policy at Astroscale Japan. Prior to joining Astroscale, Aya worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, where she was involved in areas such as the Japan-India bilateral relationship, international law and treaties, and arms control and disarmament. She holds a master’s degree in law from Tohoku University in Japan and an M.Phil. in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University in India. Her primary interests focus on space sustainability, active debris removal and transparency of space operations.
