This online event — the first in a series hosted by the George Washington University’s Institute for Data, Democracy & Politics (IDDP) — will highlight the false, misleading and dangerous social media content regarding the COVID-19 pandemic that harms the health and financial security of consumers in the United States and around the world. United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Vice President of the European Commission for Values and Transparency Vera Jourova will open the event with remarks.

The event will be streamed online and open to the public. Each panel will include a question-and-answer session.
