Canadian businesses face growing questions about how to ensure the responsible commercialization and use of emerging technologies that are now key drivers of success across all industries.
This interactive panel discussion, hosted by Global Affairs Canada (GAC) and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), will explore expectations of business for responsible conduct and due diligence in relation to the development and deployment of emerging technologies. The panel will also highlight how the deployment or sale of emerging technologies is increasingly implicated in the business sector’s responsibilities to respect human rights and the environment. Policy challenges and potential new governance approaches will be explored, with a focus on how these may shape the future landscape for business.
