In this commentary published in the Toronto Star, Bessma Momani and Shelly Ghai Bajaj explains how digital disinformation can be dangerous and too often, racialized ethnocultural communities bear the brunt of it.

"Racial discrimination being amplified by disinformation is a feedback loop of more discrimination. After all, racialized and immigrant communities are also often the targets in far-right populist political narratives. From general economic maladies, overpriced housing markets, challenges in the labour market, and threats to public safety, history tells us that these communities are often scapegoated for these strains," write Bessma and Shelly.
